Album of watercolours and prints

Oblong. 163x240mm. First five leaves have four watercolours and a drawing signed "S.H.Holroyd 1845". There are twenty-seven further leaves with watercolours, drawings and prints. Eight of the pictures are drawn or painted direct onto the page with the others mounted or pasted in. Inscribed "To Miss G. Pontet from The Earl and Countess De La Warr". Attractively bound in maroon calf, decorated with gilt rococo cornerpieces. At the centre of the upper cover is an oval panel painted with a bouquet of flowers inlaid to an oval gold mount. Lower cover decorated with gilt fillets and cornerpieces and blind stamped decoration. The paintings and drawings are charming and of a high standard. A very nice collection put together over a period of time and in a lovely binding in excellent condition.
